Week5 Reading Review: Variability (Group1)

Do we have a freedom of choice on media?
Yes, we do. Because, actually we can arrange our msdia device, such as smart-mobile phone and web browser, as following our interents. We can pick up necessary thigns and throw away others. The author add "moral responsibility" about this freedom. Now here, I want to add another point about this freedom.

I just red online article about iPad. It said that many people rushed to Apple stores when iPad was released. This is not surprising, but conpared with iPhone or iMac, there were more people who have not touched Apple products, and who are not really good at computer things. This is becaseu they heard iPad is easier than computer. The article says, however, it was not actually true. Many of those people have been struggled to set up iPad, whcih is the important first step. Becasue Mac products do not have set up manual. Then Apple commented that they did not have any manual, becasue they expected their customer to be creative, whichi means customer will be able to/ will have to find their the best way of using. This is real freedom!! However, we can not miss the people who are struggled with this freedom.

Think about mobile phone, all functions were fixed and not flexibile, buit was pretty simple. Tody's smart phone is more useful and arrangeable, but it became more complex. That's why my mother does not want to change her mobile which is nearly broken. So will people, like my mother, be isolated?
